"This piece came into being simply because I have always loved these flowers, both for their intense violet-blue colours and for the rich gold of the irises. They make a wonderful joyous foreground in contrast to the more sombre scene behind, in which you can just see the four great topiary yews marking the centre of the walled garden. The focus of the garden is an impressive Italian marble fountain, creating the appearance almost of a Renaissance setting."

Worked on 10 gauge canvas, the worked area measures 27" x 22" suitable for a wall hanging. Available on printed or unprinted canvas.
Worked on 14 gauge canvas, the worked area measures 19¾" x 16½" suitable for a pillow or cushion. Available on unprinted canvas only.
