This stunning doorstop design is inspired by a tile manufactured
by the world renowned ceramics company Josiah Wedgewood & Sons in
c.1885. It was produced in a blue and white colourway, popular throughout
the Victorian period, but was also deliberately designed to appeal
to devotees of the Arts & Crafts Movement by echoing the work of
William Morris, Henry Dearle and the blossoming Aesthetic Movement.
The tapestry measures 14” x 10” (26cm x 25cm) and is
worked on 12 gauge canvas using Paterna tapestry wool. It is available
on either printed canvas or unprinted canvas suitable for a pillow
or cushion. It is made into a doorstop using a standard house brick
(not included!).
