A wonderful design inspired by a 1901 Hungarian woven wallhanging by Sarolta Koválszky & now housed in the Museum of Applied Arts, Budapest. The original design is very much in the form of the later Arts and Crafts Movement pieces from Europe, with bold colours and uncomplicated forms. The quote which frames the image is by an unknown wit, but seems to strike a chord with all cat lovers. It reads "There are many intelligent species in the universe - all of them are owned by cats."

This is a marvellous design for any level of stitching experience. If you want, you can always stitch the cats to mimick the markings of your own beloved furry friend!

The tapestry measures 9¾” x 22½” (25cm x 57cm) and is worked on 12 gauge canvas with Anchor tapestry wool. It is available on either printed canvas or unprinted canvas suitable for a pillow or cushion.
