William de Morgan is best known for his ceramic tiles depicting humorous animals and birds. His sense of invention and imagination in their portrayal has never been equalled as this design illustrates so well.

His choice of colours is fabulous and gives the tapestry a real feeling of movement and energy. Only the glorious depth and a wonderful sheen of Paterna wools could match the vibrant colours of the original tile. While the design is over a hundered years old it is strikingly contemporary and would go beautifully in a minimalist style home.
