Walter Crane (1845 - 1915) was probably
one of the most versatile artist/designers of his generation.
He was an accomplished painter in both oils and watercolours,
calligraphy, a designer of stained glass, tiles, pottery,
tapesteries, embroideries, metalwork, wallpaper, woven and
printed textiles and carpets.

It was as an illustrator of children's
books, however, that he is best remembered. He was a founder
member and President of the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society,
and was Principal of the Royal College of Art from 1898 to
1899.
We offer a range of counted cross stitch
based on designs by Walter Crane, all available as kits and
pattern packs.
