Counted Cross Stitch Kits and Patterns
William De Morgan 'Flora's Feast' Daisy
Cross stitch Designer: Karen Dixon
|
|
| The
design for this counted cross stitch kit is taken from
a wonderful book by Walter Crane entitled 'Flora's Feast:
A Masque of Flowers' which was first published in 1889,
and is probably the most famous of all his works. It features
the 'margarete' or daisy. The original book contains 40
colour illustrations, each depicting a personified flower,
beginning with the goddess Flora calling them from their
winter sleep. Each flower appears in the book in the sequence
they actually appear in the garden, the Christmas Rose
providing the beautiful finale to this stunningly original
work.

|
The
design is worked on 28 count Zweigart Cashel linen and
the worked area measures 10 x 7½ ins (25.5 x 19
cm).
The
counted cross stitch kit contains threads (floss), fabric,
needle, chart and instructions. Or try our pattern pack
leaving you free to vary the fabric material, count
or even colour.
