The design for this counted cross stitch kit is based on a detail from 'St. Bride' which was painted in 1913. It depicts the head of one of two angels who support St. Bride (also known as Brigid) between them on her journey to Bethlehem, where she is said to have wrapped the baby Christ in her cloak. It is this action which led to her being known as 'The Foster Mother of Christ'.
