John Duncan (1866 - 1945) was born in Dundee,
Scotland, and was a major figure in the Celtic Revivalist Movement,
which sought to portray the myths and legends of Scotland and Ireland
in the pre-Raphaelite tradition.
He was regarded by many of his contemporaries
as a mystic, a belief reinforced by his admission that he heard
'fairy music' whilst he painted. He was married, unsuccessfully,
to a lady who believed she had discovered the Holy Grail in a well
in Glastonbury.
We offer two beautiful counted cross stitch
designs based on the work of John Duncan, both available as kits
or pattern packs.
