This counted cross stitch design is based on a ceramic tile from the house of the renowned Victorian artist Lord Leighton. The original 16th century Iznik tiles, which Leighton brought back from Turkey, were damaged in transit, so William de Morgan was commissioned to make some replica tiles.

The design is worked on 14 count Aida fabric and the worked area measures 16in x 14½ in (40cm x 36cm) suitable for a pillow or cushion.
