Counted Cross Stitch Kit: Oriental Lady and Cat Cross Stitch Blackwork kit by the Victorian artist Aubrey Beardsley, one of the range of fine cross stitch kits available from Millennia Designs

The design for this counted cross stitch is based on a line drawing by Aubrey Beardsley dated 1893 which was done for Bon-Mots. The inspiration for the lady appears to come from Japanese prints, whilst the cat is probably based on Beardsley's own observations.

The design is worked on 28 count linen fabric and the worked area measures 7¾ x 7¾ ins (19 x 19cm).
