Counted Cross Stitch Kits and Patterns
Elizabethan Floral Hearts
Cross stitch Designer: Karen Dixon

This collection
of six counted cross stitch kits is inspired by a satin
cushion cover embroidered with silk. It was probably
designed and stitched by a member of the Broderers Company
in London in about 1600.

Needlework
played a major role in the lives of the majority of
wealthy women during the Elizabethan period. From an
early age girls received instruction in embroidery techniques,
producing highly patterned samplers as part of their
tuition.
|
|
Each
design is worked on 28 count linen and the worked area
measures 5 x 5 ins (13 x 13cm).
The
counted cross stitch kit contains threads (floss), fabric,
needle, chart and instructions. Or try our pattern pack
leaving you free to vary the fabric material, count
or even colour.
